Fred
Cacciotti’s
music ministry spans more than two decades. He is a member of
the Society of
Composers, Authors & Music
Publishers of Canada
and the Canadian
Gospel Music
Association.
In 2002,
he was nominated for Songwriter of
the Year
by the UCMVA in Washington DC. The same year saw him lead his
former group, Spirit in Motion at
WYD
culminating with the Papal Mass at Toronto Ontario Canada. He
served as a music consultant on the Planning Committee and was
blest to receive a Papal Medallion
for his efforts during this historic event. This will be a
treasured memento with the passing of Pope John Paul 11in
2005. In 2003
his CD “Heavenly Eyes,
Heavenly Hands”
was nominated again by UCMVA for
International Album of the Year
and in
2005
he was the recipient of the “International
Artist of the Year”
Unity award given out by the United Catholic Music & Video
Association.
Before his return to the church in 1984, Fred was involved in
many aspects of the secular music business from writing radio and television
commercials, recordings and performing at major concerts. He shared the stage
with some of the biggest names in popular music at that time, like the
Guess Who (American Woman),
Janice Joplin, The Band
and Neil Diamond.
Leaving that behind, Fred believes, was a special gift that has allowed him to
write music that inspires a deeper faith in God.
This inspiration comes in abundance from the scripture readings at each Sunday’s
mass and God’s presence everywhere. (He currently serves as Music Minister at
St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Oshawa, Ontario).
In this respect his new release “River
Of Mercy” is truly
inspired. It crosses all denominational lines so that any Christian will feel
right at home listening to the scripture based material. His previous CD “Heavenly
Eyes, Heavenly Hands” is
still available as well.
Fred has also written and performed some exciting
Classical Guitar
compositions that capture the fire of God’s Spirit and hopes to
record these as well on an exclusively instrumental CD. Two instrumental pieces
on his “River of Mercy” CD “Spirit of Fire”
and “Dancing in the Light”
will preview the Classical
Guitar album entitled “Pace”
(Peace) to be released in 2007 or 2008.
Fred lives in Ontario
Canada and is happily married to Stacia with one daughter Amanda.
