Danielle Rose |

Danielle Rose, a
senior at The University of Notre Dame, is finishing her degrees
in both theology and music. Danielle’s parents, who encouraged her
in a way of life that fostered service to others, set the examples
early on. Her father, Dr. Dan Skorich of Duluth, Minnesota, is a
doctor who served with people in India over 25 years ago. Like her
father, Danielle felt called to India at the age of 17 to serve as
a volunteer with Mother Teresa’s Missionary Sisters of Charity.
One of Danielle’s prize possessions is a rose that Mother Teresa
gave her as a reminder to share her great gift that will unfold as
a rose does, in God’s time.
Born Danielle
Skorich, she has taken the professional name "Danielle Rose" in
commemoration of that occasion. At school in South Bend, she
performs with the Notre Dame Folk Choir, a world famous singing
group. Inspired by that experience, she started composing and
singing her own original material, and has recently recorded it on
"Defining Beauty." Her music has moved and inspired audiences as
divergent in age and background as participants at large Marian
conferences and youth gatherings.
At a national
convention of church musicians held recently in Washington DC,
Danielle’s performance literally stopped the show with a lengthy
standing ovation in the middle of a concert with other much more
experienced performers.
