Cæli is a
bilingual adult contemporary Catholic husband and wife duo, Roger
and Judith Rocha. Their music is definitely a smorgasbord of
different styles and rhythms for many different tastes. In 1990,
through the intercession of one of their son's who at the time
began his First Holy Communion classes at a neighboring parish, a
good friend Fr. George Peter Irving III and after having played in
numerous garage and dance bands for years, finally made it back
home to the Catholic Church. 13 years, many Masses, Confirmations,
Presentations, weddings, retreats, funerals, church fiestas and a
debut CD later, they continue performing for God’s people.
Bringing songs of hope and truth to all who are sometimes looking
for that message, that one word that reaches out to touch those
who have that longing to be close to our Lord Jesus Christ and our
Blessed Mother Mary.
The name “Cæli” is pronounced “chāy-lē” is Latin for “of heaven”.
Latin being the official language of the Catholic Church, we felt
that we needed to bring back some of the tradition, some of that
“old school” that many cradle Catholics to this day still
remember, hence, the name Cæli was born.
Roger and Judy Rocha provide music for several Sunday Masses at
their parish home, St. Peter & St. Paul Catholic Church in
Wilmington, California.
