An
emerging artist on the contemporary Catholic music scene, Ben
Govero’s music introduces a fresh view on the struggles and joys of
following Christ.
Ben grew up in
rural Missouri near St. Louis. A musician since the age of 6, he
always seemed to have a creative flair. After playing piano for
several years, Ben picked up the guitar and started to play and sing
at the age of 14. He is currently studying at Franciscan University
of Steubenville, where he is majoring in Theology, writing and
playing music, and seeking a closer relationship with God.
In 2003 Ben’s
submission for the 2004 Franciscan University Youth Conference theme
song was chosen. The song, “Rise Up,” encourages this generation of
Catholics to actively and boldly live and proclaim the gospel
message. His recording of “Rise Up” along with 8 other original
songs and one cover can be found on his debut album, “Revolution,”
released in May of 2004.
Ben has also
appeared on the Catholic Familyland Television show “His Love,” with
host and musician Marty Rotella.
